Rebecca D. Barham’s practice areas include Oil & Gas Law: title, regulatory, corporate, transactional, contract, and litigation matters. Her work with the Firm initially focused primarily on Oil and Gas Title and Oil and Gas transactions, including researching title issues, analyzing title instruments and drafting Drill-site and Division Order Title Opinions. However, over the course of her time at the Firm, her practice has grown to include litigation matters involving the industry.

Prior to joining the firm in 2009, Ms. Barham spent three (3) years working in Washington, D.C. as Legislative Counsel for Congressman Rodney Alexander, handling a wide variety of legislative issues and constituent concerns. Upon moving back to Louisiana, she practiced law in Baton Rouge, Louisiana as an associate with the law firm of Phelps and Dunbar handling matters related to Energy and Utilities, Regulatory and Government issues, and Legislative and Government Relations. Before joining the firm, she also worked as a lobbyist to the Louisiana State Legislature with the Southern Strategy Group’s Shreveport office. While lobbying, she was responsible for securing grassroots and political momentum for various client initiatives.

Ms. Barham is licensed to practice in all of Louisiana State Courts and Virginia State Courts. She received her Juris Doctorate and Bachelor of Civil Law from Louisiana State University in 2004. She obtained a B.A. in English from Louisiana State University in 2001, graduating cum laude.
